History has been made following American figure skater Adam Rippon’s qualification for the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, making him the United States first openly gay athlete to ever qualify for the Winter Olympics.

According to NBC, the 28-year-old openly gay Olympics rookie will be joined in the 2018 South Korea’s games by fellow American figure skaters 17-year-old, Vincent Zhou, and 18-year-old, Nathan Chen, 18.
