Christmas is the time of year to celebrate and indulge in food, fun and a little bit of extra Christmas cheer. As is the Eikon tradition we thought it only fair to follow traditions of Christmas’ past and give our readers some extra eye candy before the big day arrives.
Welcome to Eikon’s 12 Gays of Christmas.
Gay 8 – Tony Eberhardt
Our 8th Gay of Christmas is not well known the world over but had such an impact on our eikon readers we had to include Tony Eberhardt in this year’s list.
Tony Eberhardt won the 2015 Mr. Gay Germany competition but in a surprise to all, the current favourite for the Mr. Gay World titles withdrew from that competition due to health reasons.
As an infant, Eberhardt lost 95% of his hearing due to an inner ear infection and now must use hearing aids to carry out normal conversation.
This “disability” led to harassment that only got worse when he came out as gay.
When running for Mr. Gay Germany, the 22-year-old ran on a platform of “New Tomorrow” which seeks to combat bullying, homophobia, discrimination and enmity by addressing the issue at the source… the bullies themselves.
“With my campaign ‘New Tomorrow’ I want the people who currently discriminate against or bully others to reconsider their social and political behavior, to leave yesterday behind and work together to create a new tomorrow,” Eberhart said while addressing his campaign.
But missing the Mr. Gay World competition hasn’t slowed Eberhart down, he is still out doing modeling and gaining some huge social media followings.
He has also recently placed 4th in the Mr. Germany awards held earlier this month.
Congratulations Tony on all that you have done so far and eikon wishes you and your family a very happy Christmas.
