Christmas is the time of year to celebrate and indulge in food, fun and a little bit of extra Christmas cheer. As is the Eikon tradition we thought it only fair to follow traditions of Christmas’ past and give our readers some extra eye candy before the big day arrives.
Welcome to Eikon’s 12 Gays of Christmas.
Gay 6 – Trey Pearson
One of the least known, but no less important gay guys of 2016 is Trey Pearson and he is our 6th Gay of Christmas.
Pearson who is the founding member of Everyday Sunday, a Christian rock band from Columbus, Ohio, appeared on The View back in June and opened up about his sexuality, explaining how attempted to be straight for years, and how difficult is was to grow up gay in a Christian home.
“I grew up in a Christian home and church where I was taught that God hated homosexuality and I could choose to be straight.”
“I tried for a really long time. And I don’t think I was ever trying to lie to anyone. I was trying to convince myself that I could be something I wasn’t.”
Prior to coming out, Pearson had been married to a woman who he has two children with for approximately seven years.
When speaking about his past relationship Pearson says that he entered the marriage because he believed that’s how it “was supposed to be.”
Pearson adds that his now ex-wife and two children have “been unbelievably loving and supporting.”
“By the time I was able to tell myself and tell her, she just hugged me and cried and told me how proud of me she was for being able to be honest with myself. She’s been my biggest supporter, my biggest advocate.”
We wish Trey all the best for the coming holiday season and hope he finds the love of his life and can be truly himself this Christmas.
